Ne:

“Oh don’t blame yourself. I mean, I’m such a clutz. I probably would have gotten hurt anyway, but you already knew that didn’t you? Besides, if you weren’t there with that first aid kit, I could have fainted from extreme loss of blood and gone into a state of shock and died right here.”

“There were a lot of things I wanted to do. I wanted to become a teacher, and an astronaut, and a baker… I wanted to go to a bunch of different donut shops and ask for one of everything! And I wanted to tell the ice-cream man to give me one of everything, too! I wish I could have five different lives! Then I could have been born in five different towns, and eaten five lifetime’s worth of food, and had five different careers, and… fallen in love with the same person, five times.”

“I think Ichigo is actually some kind of superhero, and he’s here on a mission to protect Earth.”

Orihime appears to be an Ne dominant and not an Fe dominant like most theories state. One of the first and most obvious indications shows up when she has to submit a class project on her future self. Orihime decides that in the future, she wants to be a robot, and comes up with detailed information on this idea, which will be mentioned in the Si section. Later, when saying goodbye to Ichigo, she expresses a desire to live five different lives, with five different careers, five different hometowns, and etc. During the Soul Society arc, Orihime is shown speculating with Chad and Uryu about what Kūkaku might look like. She gets really into this, not only coming up with her own idea, but later deciding to merge all three of their ideas, and then starts over with a brand new idea. This all points to the possibility-oriented, idea-driven, and speculative nature of Ne.

As a whole, Orihime is energetic, optimistic, bubbly, forgetful, and prone to being absent-minded or airheaded. She gets hit by a car at one point, and most just seems confused that it happened and shrugs it off. She randomly zones out mid-conversation to day dream, and will occasionally start day dreaming out loud. Lastly, her extraverted perceiving nature comes out strongly in the way she tends to rush into situations without much previous thought, something which frustrates Uryu immensely during their invasion of the Soul Society.

Fi:

“I’m weak, so it’s always like I turn back to look to you for help. But now I won’t turn back and I’ll go forward. The next time we meet I won’t look to you for help, Kurosaki-kun, I’ll be able to fight on my own.”

“It’s impossible to feel exactly the same as someone else… but when you both care for each other, your hearts are able to draw a little closer together.”

Orihime has relatively quiet auxiliary Fi, which is actually more common than fiction seems to portray. (In other words, she doesn’t run around screaming her ideals.) However, she has strong values which she does act upon, regardless of the cost. For instance, she is prone to healing her enemies in spite of the risk that will pose to herself later. She also unapologetically steps between Ichigo and Kugo Ginjo during their training when she determines that he is going too far. While she is deeply caring and supportive of others, her self-sacrificial nature seems to be used primarily for the benefit of Ichigo, because of her love for him. She’s constantly focused on Ichigo, and desires to get stronger for his sake primarily, since he is her ideal. Orihime also states that she believes it’s impossible for two people to feel exactly the same, which suggests a more individualistic mentality.

Orihime is very hard on herself, and feels compelled to show her own personal worth. Even though she is a healer and playing a vital role within the group, Orihime is upset when Urahara tells her that she cannot participate in the upcoming fight due to the risks of Aizen getting his hands on her ability. She’s also not afraid to share her ideas, no matter how ridiculous they seem, which suggest an Fi user’s confidence in self-image.

Te:

“Where is Rukia? Why has everyone forgotten about her like she never even existed? I need you to explain what’s happening around here.”

Orihime’s Te comes out primarily during more serious moments, when she becomes suddenly direct and focused. When Rukia disappears and no one even remembers the soul reaper’s name, Orihime confronts Ichigo point blank and asks him what is going on. She is very blunt, serious, and to the point, demanding an answer from him immediately. Other moments, like when she steps between Ichigo and Kugo Ginjo, also display her Te.

Of course, Orihime’s discipline and drive to get stronger can also be attributed to her use of Te. She can be very focused and goal driven when she needs to be, which helps her to grow in strength and develop her powers.

Si:

“I’ll have a velocity of 240 miles per hour, a 20,000 degree Celsius flame will shoot from my mouth, and my eyes will project destruction beams!”

Orhime has inferior Si. The detailed-oriented nature of her ideas make this clear. For the class project, she didn’t just decide that she wanted to be a robot, but she came up with specs as well. She determined the exact velocity, temperature of the flame, and etc. However, the fact that her Si is inferior is demonstrated by the fact that while she can be very detailed when she wants to be, she as a whole doesn’t appear that way in daily life. She tends to be forgetful and klutzy, not really paying attention to what’s around her and detached as a whole.
