Te:

“Go bring me sweets from the lower world, and until you find one that truly satisfies me, you can keep doing it over and over until the day you die.”

“Get away from him. That boy is mine!”

“He may be just a man servant, but still I won’t give him up.”

Victorique from Gosick appears to be leading with Te. She has all of the typical bossy, blunt, and overly harsh tendencies of a dominant Te personality type. She doesn’t at all struggle calling her only friend names, and dealing with in a rude way. She initially treats him like a servant, as if his only purpose in visiting her is to yield to her every command or whim. Victorique generally lacks any kind of empathy, and is basically emotionally constipated to the point where she can’t even fake a laugh. She struggles to share anything emotional, especially early on in the show. Victorique’s Te is actually somewhat extreme in a sense, to the point where she finds amusement in watching Kujo suffer walking up and down the long staircase every time he visits her. She’s also very controlling which is further emphasized by Kujo at one point calling her a control freak. Victorique has the standard rigid posture and self-control displayed by the typical high Te user. We did consider that she might be an introvert, but she’s overly eager to boss people around, even people she barely knows or are supposed to be in authority over her, like the teachers at the school. She also displays a lot of inferior Fi, but that will be discussed further down. In addition, her tendency to constantly be bored points to an extravert. Granted, anyone stuck in a tower would get bored, but her constant whining about it seems too frequent and pronounced for an aux Te user, especially considering the fact that she instantly returns to complaining about being bored the moment she reaches a resolution on any new mystery that is brought to her.

Si:

“Recount to me everything you saw and thought with perfect clarity, even down to the state of your rectum at the time.”

“I will use my wellspring of wisdom to reconstruct the truth from the fragments of chaos and explain it to you. Pay attention.”

“He’s an utter fool, burning his skin in the toxic sunlight, exposing himself for all to see.”

Victorique is incredibly detail oriented, and expects everyone else to be as well. Her “wellspring of wisdom” seems to know everything, like the exact year a factory burnt down that supposedly made the bottle wine right in front of her. Everytime she solves a mystery, she can easily and readily explain every piece of information that lead to her conclusion. She’s also incredibly observant, and as mentioned earlier, is able to recall all of these observations. For instance, when on the boat, she pays attention to the exact amount of people in the room, allowing her to realize that they had one too many. She notices how the coal heiress’ handbag would knock against something as if heavy, and then later appeared light as a feather. She notices the tickets in Kujo’s pockets and what they say, allowing her to surmise that he’d been on a date. She notices oil under someone’s fingers. The list could go on. You don’t typically see her acting off of instinct or hunches, but rather concrete and explainable information. Later, all of this information is typically broken down step-by-step so others can understand how she solved the crime. Victorique is also prone to be hyper prepared and cautious, in that sense. When packing to go on a trip, she’s shown attempting to bring a ridiculous amount of luggage, and makes sure to include things like emergency rations.

Ne:

“I wonder where this chaotic path is leading me.”

“I finally have all the fragments of chaos.”

Victorique’s Ne comes out in a couple of different ways. First, she seems to find enjoyment in her and Kujo’s different adventures, never really sinking into any kind of paranoia or worry. She sort of whimsically wonders where the chaos will lead, as if curious rather than apprehensive. Her use of the phrase “fragments of chaos” also seem to indicate Ne, since Ne users are literally prone to connecting seemingly random information together. Her tertiary Ne will occasionally slip out in small ways, like making up a song as she’s taking a bath or noticing that one of her snacks looks like dog poop (and finding that entertaining). She also likes to use somewhat dramatic and poetic language when solving her cases, but she tends to use the same phrases over and over again, which is indicative of lower Ne. Finally, the deal with her brother concerning his hairstyle struck me as Ne. It seemed very random, and was likely something she chose based on amusement, rather than finding a more strategic or useful payment for her help.

Fi:

“Your pursuit of justice has committed us both to suffering.”

Victorique’s inferior Fi is everywhere. First off, she is terrible at displaying emotion, other than anger. Her anger is explosive, which indicates an inferior feeling function. For example, she once snaps suddenly in anger and tries to throw a desk at a fellow student. However, the most obvious way Victorique demonstrates inferior Fi is through her absolute refusal to show any kind of weakness, to the point of being ridiculous. For instance, she rarely lets Kujo help her at all, whether it be carrying a tray or climbing down from a tree. She literally pretends that she’s not stuck up there, and ends up trapped outside in the rain because she wouldn’t let him help her down. Similarly, when Kujo brings her Japanese robes, she refuses to allow him to show her how to put them on, even though it’s perfectly natural and understandable for her to have no idea how to wear them. Lastly, this ties closely back to dominant Te, but her continual lack of empathy when dealing with Kujo, even after their shared emotional experience in the Village of the Gray Wolves, points back to inferior Fi.
