Naruto Series: Sasuke Uchiha (ESTJ)
Te:
โMy name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things, and I donโt particularly like anything. What I have is not a dream, because I will make it a reality. Iโm going to restore my clan, and kill a certain someone.
โHaving too many bonds causes one to lose focus, weakening their strongest wish, their greatest desire.โ
โDonโt get in my way, you screw up.โ
โI have long since closed my eyesโฆ My only goal is in the darkness.โ
โI understand now. Even if I must take the devilโs fruit, I must gain power. I am an avenger.โ
The first thing most people think of when they hear the name โSasuke Uchihaโ is probably anger, vengeance, and his goal. Many try to associate his goal with an Ni vision, however, in reality, Te is the goal oriented function, and Sasuke Uchihaโs personality wreaks of Te. Itโs the strongest function he demonstrates, and Iโm going to try to explain why. Sasuke is incredibly organized and disciplined. He has far outclassed his fellow classmates in the academy before even enrolling. He doesnโt demonstrated the same genius as his brother Itachi (as their father notes), but Sasuke practices and practices.
Sasuke looks for the quickest and most efficient path toward achieving his goal, and follows it, no matter what the cost or risk. He gives up the village, Team 7, and even his own code and morals begin to slip. Sasuke goes with Orochimaru knowing full well that Orochimaru will eventually try to take over his body. He knows that that is the next quickest step in gaining power, so he goes despite the risk. Sasuke is also shown throwing caution to the wind on multiple occasions, contrary to an introverted dominantโs instincts. For instance, when he faces Naruto and Team 7 for the first time since joining Orochimaru, Sasuke is quick to want to use a secret technique that he has been working on for some time. Orochimaru rebukes him for being too hasty, telling him to save his trump card for later. Sasuke also rushes into the Hokage summit without a plan, and him and his team barely make it out alive. (Same goes for his attack on Killer Bee.) Sasuke usually faces things head on, not afraid to jump right into the middle of conflict. Additionally, when being paralleled to how Itachi masterfully struck the bullโs eye on every single target mid-air, Sasuke, rather than using focused and precise attacks, simply destroys the entire arena with his Chidori, which is counter to what you might expect from an introverted dominant. (This is shown just before he attacks Orochimaru.)
Sasuke is incredibly blunt and harsh in his speech, even as an adult. He frequently sounds rude, arrogant and bossy, which are common side effects of Te attempting to exert control on itโs external environment. While he is clearly in emotional turmoil at multiple points during Shippuden and the original Naruto series, as anyone in his situation would be, Sasuke usually has a pretty tight grip on his emotions, not allowing them to get in the way of accomplishing his goal. Many people try to peg him as an introvert because of how standoffish and distant he is. However, Te does not require people interaction to function, and his tragic past causes him to withdraw.
Si:
โI finallyโฆ I finally got my first bit of revenge for Itachiโฆ itโs like the disgrace of the Uchiha clan is being cleansed. Like Iโm separating the Uchiha clan from the rotten ninja world. You might even say itโs what Konoha always wanted. You always repudiated the Uchiha clan, so now we will disappear from your memories just like you always wanted. When I kill everyone in Konoha! By severing the bond, we will be purified! That will be the true revival of the Uchiha clan!โ
โWeaknesses? Listen, he was full of weaknesses. He was a good-for nothing. But he pulled himself up with his own strength and became Hokageโฆ You donโt need to understand who Naruto is now, you need to know the Naruto who made it all the way here.โ
โItโs not the future I dream of anymore. Only the past.โ
โMy dream doesnโt exist in the future. My dream lies in the past. Thatโs the only place where it exists.โ
โIโm suffering now because I had those ties. How on earth could you possibly understand what it feels like to lose all that!?โ
โHe needs time to reconfirm his decision and resolve, by immersing himself in sentimentality and retracing the past.โSaid Orichimaru about Sasuke.
โTwo brothers whose abilities are identical. How could what your eyes perceive be so different?โ โ Danzo to Sasuke
We apologize in advance for the excess of quotes and the length of this section, but we feel the need to produce a ton of Si evidence, since people usually try to make Sasuke an Ni user. Sasukeโs goal is constantly quoted in flashbacks; itโs the staple of his character. However, notice that the first thing he mentions is not revenge, but rather the restoration of his clan. Sasuke is loyal to his clan. His goals, from killing Itachi to destroying the Leaf Village, are always driven by clan ideals and family honor, typical Si duty driven mentality. Sasuke is anchored in the past, and Iโm not just saying that in regards to his desire for vengeance. Any person, Si dom or otherwise, would desire vengeance after suffering a tragedy as he does. However, notice how Sasuke fixates on the past in the quotes above. Adult Sasuke tells Narutoโs son that he needs to understand who Naruto was in the past. Adult Sasuke also frequently expresses regret for the way he was in the past, wanting desperately to atone for his sins. Sasuke even refuses Hashiramaโs cells when he loses his arm, opting to live without it as a means of redemption, to atone for his crimes. This theme continues throughout โBoruto: Naruto Next Generations.โ
Sasuke also demonstrates a reliance on past experiences. He returns to several places from his past, like the cat lady for supplies when he could have easily gone somewhere else. After the final battle with Kaguya, Sasuke challenges Naruto, and where does he take him? Back to the Valley of the End, where him and Naruto first fought. In addition, before leaving on his soul searching journey at the end of Shippuden, Sasuke says goodbye to Sakura, by tapping her on the forehead, like his brother always did to him. These are all completely unnecessary nods to the past that Sasuke feels compelled to do. Later on in the show, Sasuke goes so far as to resurrect the past Hokages to get answers to questions like โWhat does it mean to be a village?โ and โwhat does it mean to be a shinobi?โ Sasuke gets caught on these concepts, unable to use intuition to guide him to an answer and unable to intuitively understand what Itachi was thinking. (If they were both Ni doms, that shouldnโt have been so difficult. At one point, Danzo even notes that Sasuke and Itachi perceive things very differently.) Therefore, Sasuke looks to the past and the experience of others to get answers.ย (NOTE: High Ni users usually interpret and fill in the blanks themselves.) When Itachi is resurrected, Sasuke chases him around in attempt to force answers out of him, completely unable to move on from the past, in spite of the great danger the world is now in. Sasuke also has no clear vision for the future, beyond the desire to โcast off the pastโ and recreate the village in the way it was intended to be originally (as per the Hokageโs definitions), with him as the world ruler. However, realize that everything Sasuke is doing is an attempt to honor and avenge his brother โ whether that means to destroy the village or protect the village โ which is another nod toward Si.
Sasuke is incredibly detail oriented, and at times gets stuck on small details. Sasukeโs use of the GenJutsu aspect of the Sharingan is very subtle. While Itachi creates grand illusions to trap his prey (like any good Ni user would), Sasuke hones in on small details, relying on keen observation to gain the upper hand. For instance, when he fights Danzo, Sasuke uses GenJutsu to make it look like the last Sharingan on Danzoโs arm is still open, making him think he has one more use of the Izanagi. Sasuke uses this small detail, rather than a grand illusion to ultimately defeat Danzo. This pattern remains consistent throughout the show. In addition, Sasuke primarily uses the the Sharingan to copy other peopleโs Ninjutsu, which would be a logical Si tactic (repeat what he has seen in the past). In general, Sasuke, while very strategic, has a relatively linear way of thinking. The show usually doesnโt need to enter his headspace and narrate his thinking or tactics, like they do with some of the other characters like Neji and Madara. Sasuke is also very straight forward and direct in all of his dealings, and isnโt often seen attempting to subtly manipulate others. Additionally, Sasuke feels the need to correct Deidara mid-conversation and say that โby the way, my jutsu is technically called Chidoriโ which is a potential example of Si, getting caught on an unnecessary detail or technicality. Heโs also shown breaking down his entire strategy, hypothesis, and observations to Deidara at the end of their battle in detail, explaining to Deidara exactly how he had just lost. This is another nod toward Si: his ability to look back and explain every step heโd taken to defeat Deidara. All of it was observation based, rather than being based on intuition, gut, or instincts.
Ne:
Sasukeโs Ne helps with improvising in the moment and being resourceful. On occasion, he has to come up with creative ways to defeat his enemies, and Ne comes to his aid. Sasuke adapts several jutsu to meet his needs, and gathers a large arsenal of techniques to use in battle. Sasuke is also relatively adaptable, although his low Ne use is clearly shown after he kills Itachi and learns the truth about what happened. Sasuke is thrown into a state of confusion, and starts flip flopping between goals. He doesnโt know if he should destroy the village to avenge his brother or become Hokage to fix the village. Later, he wants to wipe out all of the Hokage to fix the entire world. For this period of time, when he first learns the truth, Sasuke no longer seems purposeful and controlled, but irrational and chaotic, as he tries to decide what goal he should latch onto next. He then later, based on the experiences and knowledge of the previous Hokage, declares that he will become Hokage, which, being a complete 180 degree turn from his original intent, throws everyone into shock. Sasukeโs low Ne also causes him to get frustrated with those who fail to maintain focus, or deviate from the task at hand in any way.
Fi:
โYou toy with peopleโs lives for the sake of this vain and ridiculous cause of yours. You disgust me!โ
For the majority of Shippuden, Sasuke holds a relatively consistent moral code, which he maintains in spite of anyone elseโs opinion. While training with Orochimaru, Sasuke refuses to kill anyone, even when confronted by a large group of warriors. He defeats them without killing a single one. Orochimaru is quick to remind him that it would have been much simpler just to kill them, but Sasuke refuses to participate in pointless killing. Sasuke considers Orochimaru to be a piece of trash because of his lack of morality, because he has no regard for human life. Sasuke also views Naruto as weak throughout Shippuden and the original series, and hates him for this weakness. This is a symptom of inferior Fi. By the end of Shippuden, Sasukeโs dominant Te unfortunately tramples out his inferior Fi code causing Sasuke to lose himself in his goal. He desires to kill Naruto, kill all of the Kage, and rule the world himself. Heโs willing to sacrifice anyone who gets in the way, and puts the entire world (currently trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi) at risk.

I disagree. Itโs clear that heโs Fe blind and uses Ni/Se instead of Si/Ne. That only leaves INTJ or ISTP. In my opinion, Sasuke is a Te user instead of a Ti user, leaving only INTJ. Also, if you watch Boruto, Sasuke as an adult is consistent with the INTJ typing him. Shippuden Sasuke was traumatized from the massacre of his entire family, so its difficult to type him.

Sasuke seems to show a stronger preference for Te>Ti given how he seems to look at how useful something is to him and quick to discard it if it is unnecessary. I also donโt see much inferior Fe in him.
I think he is 514 tritype. 5 in how he prefers to rely on his own problem-solving skills and independence instead of actively testing for external support (5>6). Additionally, he has a strong need for privacy and limits intrusion from the world e.g. with relationships. His 1 contributes to his high expectations of himself and his criticism when unable to reach them. Sasuke doesnโt necessarily dominate the room like a 8 does but prefers to remain controlled. Additionally, Sasuke refuses to follow in Itachiโs footsteps, opting not to kill or gain the Mangekyo Sharingan, doing so is to stoop to his level (who he considers evil). His 1 also gives him a strong desire to reform it into something better- resulting in his plans for evolution. His 4 makes him feel different from others, insisting none can understand him. When Naruto states he identifies with him, he reacts angrily declaring that Naruto truly doesnโt understand the pain of losing a family.
While I donโt necessary agree with ESTJ, I will commend Ryan and Mara for compiling a lot of evidence to support their case. Case still opened because it is good to have other opinions!
[โฆ] if he was the Hokage. If you want more evidence for higher Te in Sasuke check this typing here (https://practicaltyping.com///2018/โฆe-uchiha-estj/) though I don't agree with ESTJ (though it has many valid points). Could you find some examples of [โฆ]
The more I think about it, the more Sasuke seems quite different compared to Ni-dom Itachi who is constantly contemplating the abstractions + narrowing down everything to a singular meaning. Of course, Sasuke is unhealthy for the majority of the series whereas Itachi is a little more healthier. I mainly latched onto INTJ because it was popular consensus but as I look at the cognitive functions, I realise you really do have a valid argument though I am not fully convinced. After discovering Itachiโs death, you could say he goes in a Te-Ne loop of constantly taking reckless actions to pursue multiple different ideas. I also thought that if he was an INTJ, his inferior Se would make me less hesitant to engage in action but being a Te-dom would explain a constant almost energy to get things done. That being said, I am curious what you think of how energy Sasuke puts into introspection? Does he look outwardly or inwardly first?
An interesting aspect of Sasuke seems to be he initially viewed Itachi as the living embodiment of the evil in the world. He had to choice to kill Naruto to obtain the Mangekyo Sharingan but he refused to. He had the choice to kill innocents under Orochimaru but he refused to. In Sasukeโs mind, these were actions that Itachi would have done. This here expands on it further (Analyzing the psychological reasons behind Sasukeโs actions). How do you think this relates to his Fi and its position on the stack? I also find it interesting how he chose to accept Tobiโs story at face value, probably because it gave him an outlet to direct his anger instead of blaming himself for killing Itachi.
Iโm curious what has been your journey to discovering Sasukeโs type? Were you also adamant he was an ESTJ or did you go through a few times because you eventually decided?
โThat being said, I am curious what you think of how energy Sasuke puts into introspection? Does he look outwardly or inwardly first?โ
I feel like answering this question would amount to pure speculation. Heโs quiet and by himself a lotโฆ His thoughts are not often shared.
As to Fiโฆ
That link essentially said that his values were anti-Itachi valuesโฆ which makes them not really his own values, in a sense, but based on Itachi. That could easily indicate inferior Fi.
As to our journeyโฆ
As a Ti dom, I am adamant about very few things. I reconsider constantly, and it sometimes drives Ryan insane. But anyhow, the only thing we picked up on instantly was Sasuke NOT being an INTJ. It didnโt fit with how he was portrayed in the show in comparison to the more obvious Ni users, like Itachi. We saw the higher Te, so we rather quickly thought ISTJ; but I like to compare characters to every type before locking onto one, so we considered many others, like the Fi doms. Personally, I would have called him an Fi dom long before an INTJ. However, all his Fi seemed bad. I never expected to end up calling him an ESTJ, but it seemed to account for some of his hastier anti-ISTJ actions. Although, to this day, Ryan and I still contemplate him being an ISTJ. However, weโre sold on him being an STJ of some kind. I lean ESTJ overall, but he could just be an ISTJ way out of balance.
Sasuke is way too reckless for ISTJ who generally donโt want to repeat past mistakes. But they are his values. Itachi to him was representative of every wrong with his world. It had a strong pull in his sense of morality. I suppose to support ESTJ, Sasuke is constantly taking action and never really halted for any significant time to contemplate in an defensive introverted loop (to resist something) rather an extroverted loop would explain his reckless actions because he wanted an outlet for his anger. Sasuke becomes really erratic after fighting Killer Bee. He initially thinks of using the Akatsuki only to quickly abandon then them to attack Konoha (without any sort of decent plan) to heading directly to the Kage Summit (again without research- he could have easily asked Tobi for information on the Kage). Would do you think of Sasuke ignoring the strain of his eyes through Mangekyo after fighting Killer Bee? A good Si-user knows to take care of their body with attentive detail to internalised bodily sensations. Sasuke completely ignored this and faced one battle after another in the Kage Summit, completing ignoring the strain. It would make sense if his Te made him too eager to crush any opposition, thinking that he could take on Kakashi and Naruto even after taking multiple Kages and Danzo. Si would know that doing all that would be unrealistic. He generally judges people based on โhow useful are they to me?โ, initially disregarding Sakura and Naruto because he thought they were far inferior to him. As he detaches himself from the idea of teamwork + fixates more on his goals, he sees the weaknesses of Taka and thinks that โif they were weak enough to be captured, they have no use for meโ- leaving Suigetsu + Jugo to be captured and stabbing through Karin to reach Danzo.
Yep, I basically agree with this, hence the ESTJ typing.
I mostly agree with your typings, but this one I really disagree. Even though Sasuke is really not an INTJ, he is also no way a Te dom. Te dom wonโt be SO random and easily brainwashed, especially after killing Itachi. Sasuke makes decisions on a fly without making plans: rushing into kage summit, straight forward attacking Raikage (and being able to survive only through sheer luck and bad writing from Kishi), suddenly wants to destroy Konoha, suddenly wants to become a Hokage, wants to kill Naruto, wants to kills Sakura or teams up with them. I think even though ESTJs lack Ni forsight they still have Si which should make them careful and slower in decisions that what Sasuke shows, which indicates also that Sasuke is not inferior Se user either.
You also got inferior Fi wrong. Sasuke is overwhelmed with vengeance, hate through out the show and tends to make decisions mostly based on his feelings like hate which he admits himself many times. ESTJs tend to dismiss feelings, Sasuke clearly recognizes his hate as his main goals driver โ he tells that to Madara at some chapter. Also where Sasuke shows signs of not understanding his feelings, emotions? Fi doms often have anger issues, keep feelings to themselves until they bottled up or get irritated if they are offended, but they recognize those feelings and emotions.
Iโm making a case that he is ISFP and functions wise it also works. ISFP even though having Ni in their stack have obviously worse pattern recognition that N types and being dominant feelers. Sasuke also often makes pretty bad judgements and is easily manipulated. He is using his Ni mostly to be focused on a single goal often being in a loop Fi-Ni which is based on his child trauma. Also what signs of Te he shows in his childhood except being best in the class? I guess for a ninja to be better in the academy function-wise Se is preferable combined with thinking (so xSTP obviously) and functions are not much correlated with talent. Not to mention being a son of the clan and Itachi brother certainly helps.
Sasuke wanted to be better than others in academy before his brother killing their parents because he wanted to be recognized by Itachi and his father (which can be a sign of Te, but certainly Fi too). Sasuke also doesnโt care about everyone else approval at all and about status quo / hierarchy which ESTJ are all about.
As strange as it may sound, I see ISFP as the most valid argument for Sasuke next to ESTJ, because of the obvious imbalance between his Te/Fi function pair for the entirety of the show. Those two functions are clearly at war, and not playing well together. Author bleed also plays into this, but thatโs an entirely different story and not the basis for my argument.
I see Sasuke as essentially falling into the grip of Fi, rather than actually being an Fi dom.
First, you never see him incorporate killing Itachi into his moral code. He accepts the role of avenger and decides that he must kill him, but itโs primarily out of hate and not justified within a moral code. I would have expected an Fi dom to build a value system around this hatred, and potentially preach it to others as justification. Sasuke never does that; he just declares his role over and over again. Compare him to high Fi users like Naruto and Nagato who get โpreachyโ due to their high Fi. Sasuke just scatters insults and barrels forward toward his goal.
Second, he outright contradicts what little moral code he has. For instance, refusing to kill anyone, but then making exceptions for Orochimaru and Itachi, in addition to trying to kill Sakura and Karin. His Fi is clearly not that important to him or it wouldnโt be constantly devolving. However, he always needs to have a goal. Without one, he becomes lost, which suggests that Te is running his life, not Fi-Se.
Third, Sasuke demonstrates a need for evidence to believe what he believes. Think of Naruto who will believe whatever he wants regardless of the evidence, like in regard to Sasukeโs betrayal. Compare this to Sasuke who cannot determine how he feels about Itachi without evidence. He becomes easy to manipulate because he is so dependent on the facts and not his own internal truth or beliefs. He hunts down Itachi for the truth, revives dead Hokages to form evidence for the basis of his next goal, and etc. Naruto = screw the evidence. Sasuke = how I feel will be dictated by the body of evidence I am given.
As to the lack of inferior Fi, one cannot outright โignoreโ their Fi if in the grip of it. Sasuke is overwhelmed with the emotions provoked by his tragic past. Who wouldnโt be? Heโs logical enough to recognize this. Itโs easy as a dominant thinker to be fueled by anger since it is not typically viewed as a weakness, because it does not make them feel vulnerable. The types that I would expect to lock down their emotions really tight would be the IXTJs due to having a competent level of control and balance between their thinking and feeling functions, hence INTJ being out of the question.
In regards to switching between wants, Fi-Se is by no means random. That constant switching between what he does and does not want points away from dominant Fi, since he cannot be that in touch with himself. It also points away from Ni, since his focus is not singular. It looks more like badly executed Ne, jumping between different possibilities without focus.
As for ESTJs typically being cautious, dominant Te is more reckless than aux Te since an extrovert will act quicker. Reckless action is also not out of the realm of possibility for most types in a damaged state. While he does make snap judgments, he usually has some form of long range plan over all.
Sasuke does care about approval and status, just not in the village. Approval from Itachi and his father are the easy examples. A Te is not going to be begging for everyoneโs approval. Te users want power. When they incorporate themselves into a hierarchy, usually they try to gain command and rank within it. (Sasukeโs later desire to be Hokage fits this. Note the desire for him was a means to an end, and not value driven. Te > Fi.) An ESTJ who cannot command the hierarchy may choose to fight against it. They want to be in command, not to be commanded. Sasukeโs goal fell outside the village, so the rules and hierarchy were meaningless. It got in his way and kept him from gaining power.
Okay, but how Sasuke being ESTJ and being so emotionally damaged can change his points of view so easily after single talk with Obito? ESTJ is one of the very conservative types and they will need to carefully verify new facts against their world view.
About him not building moral code, Iโm not sure. Sasuke never said that dismisses his feelings, on the contratry he embraces his hate and vengeance fully. In their first battle with Naruto he mentions many times that he doesnโt understand him as he cannot relate to him and see the world as he does. Also Sasuke is able to recognize suffering of others and relate easily to people who suffered losses like Naruto and Itachi.
In many cases very hard decisions like killing Itachi, leaving Konoha, Kage summit attack, Konoha destruction, killing Naruto are made by Sasuke very fast (I donโt think ESTJ would make such global decisions so fast) because of hate: first feeling bad for his clan, then feeling bad for Itachi, then feeling bad for the whole world. In battles Sasuke mostly makes decisions on the fly except Itachi when he got really prepared (but its special case) and because of that had to get shitload of Kishi gifts.
Once again, Sasuke never said that he rejects his feelings and actually except moments of madness he has them under control. I donโt remember him having strong emotional outbursts except moments with Itachi though he always appears cold and distant. Damaged ISFPs can fall in grip of his lower functions especially with Sasuke as he is so obsessed with his goal which similar Te doms.
I donโt see how Sasuke wants to be popular and have prestige even before his parents death. Iโd say he gives a tremendous **** about what everyone else thinks of him. He also doesnโt pursue power for power sake.
Sasuke also is not really stimulated by external world. He stimulated mostly internally by his damaged feelings and world view. ESTJ would want to come out on top just for that or defeat others or learn new skills. Though itโs arguably as we donโt see Sasuke not under revenge mode. Yet in the end of Naruto Sasuke just goes on his hermit path alone working under Naruto as shadow ninja and AGAIN because of INTERNAL motivation for redemption. Sasuke is not stimulated by friends, money, power, status, skills on their own. He also can easily spend massive time alone without really contacting with external world..
Well, for starters, he didnโt change โhis points of view so easily after single talk with Obito.โ If you recall correctly, Sasuke refused to join up with Obito or fully believe him. He merely left himself open to the possibility and set out to VERIFY THE EVIDENCE HIMSELF. Thatโs why he confronted Danzo instead of just going straight to killing him. He went and accused Danzo to verify that what Obito had said was true, just like you said an ESTJ would do. He does the same thing later when he has to resurrect the original Kage to get his answers to corroborate and figure out what was true. He goes on a big long quest for answers to figure out what his new goal was going to be.
As to never dismissing his feelings, Te doms have no issues embracing emotions like hate or vengeance because these emotions donโt make them feel weak or vulnerable so that point is moot. All the rest of what you said simply proves he has Fi somewhere in his stack and is not indicative of where. Furthermore, you see him actively trying to sever his bonds with other people and push down his positive feelings because they were getting in the way of him completing his goal of getting stronger. (Seems like dismissing feelings to me.)
When it comes to ESTJs not making quick decisions, Te doms are known for easily making decisions quickly, as is the case with most extroverted doms. It is the introverted doms that must sit and mull over a decision first. And beyond that, if someone has already figured out where they stand, they can easily make a snap decision based on what they have previously worked out. Sasuke had well thought out plans when facing most of his enemies until he unlocked his upper level sharingan abilities and thought he was invincible. His Te went on a power trip so he stopped feeling the need to strategize, and he ended up paying the cost because he WASNโT that great at improvising.
โOnce again, Sasuke never said that he rejects his feelings and actually except moments of madness he has them under control. I donโt remember him having strong emotional outbursts except moments with Itachi though he always appears cold and distant. Damaged ISFPs can fall in grip of his lower functions especially with Sasuke as he is so obsessed with his goal which similar Te doms.โ
Uh, a Te dom frequently has their feelings locked down and under control? And it makes perfect sense for them to have moments of wild uncontrolled feeling? (inferior Fi) It really seems like you are proving my point here instead of yoursโฆ.
โI donโt see how Sasuke wants to be popular and have prestige even before his parents death. Iโd say he gives a tremendous fuck about what everyone else thinks of him. He also doesnโt pursue power for power sake.โ
He doesnโt. We never said that he wanted to be popular or have prestige. Te doms donโt necessarily care about that stuff. Itโs a bi-product of wanting to be able to complete their goal. None of those things benefited Sasukeโs goals so of course he didnโt care. Before he was damaged, his GOAL was to prove himself to his father, not impress the other kids or be popular. So, he went off and trained cause thatโs what would allow him to complete his goal.
Te doms are known for being the extroverts that donโt need other people. All they need is to feel like they are leaving their mark on the world. This is exactly what Sasuke does. He isnโt hardly even working under Naruto. He is off doing his own thing and occasionally reporting in. Redemption has become his new GOAL so as a Te dom he is now fully committed to achieving his redemption. He has enough sense to know that after being the villain the only way he can change the external world is from the shadows. He is all throughout the series being guided by his goals, not his feelings or his morals like other high Fi users like Naruto.
