Fe:

“I came back here for Scott, but I also came back for you. Someone like you. Someone who’s willing to walk into the woods in the middle of the night to protect his friends. I don’t have anyone like that but Scott does. You all do. I know I’m in the right place. I’m meant to be here. I’m meant to be a part of this pack.”

“Look, I don’t want this to sound like a warning, and I definitely don’t want it to sound like a threat, but you can’t hide anything from me, Hayden.”

“People only feel one emotion at a time, Liam, which is why you get angry when you’re afraid. That’s why you almost tore Nolan’s head off.”

Theo appears to be an Fe dominant. Upon his entrance into the show, he makes it clear that he’s looking for a pack, and wants nothing else than to be accepted by Scott and the others. Of course, this is partially a front, an Fe-framed front. However, he does truly want a pack, and he does truly want Scott’s pack to accept him as their alpha. This is iterated many times, but a good example is shown when he angrily reminds the dread doctors: “You promised me a pack.” He also declares ownership of Scott’s pack, telling him: “They’re still mine. Maybe not yet but they’ll come around.” This all suggests Fe motives. Once he fails to take over Scott’s pack, he forms an alternate pack, consisting of Chimeras.

In order to obtain his pack, Theo uses Fe-style tactics. He easily endears himself to the group, and positions himself in an advisor role to Scott. During the point in time where the members of the pack aren’t talking to each other, Scott is talking to Theo, explains his struggles and doubting his leadership ability. Theo reminds him that he needs his pack, and offers to help. Theo is extremely personable and friendly during this time. Even Stiles, who is suspicious of him from the start, wears down somewhat, and let’s Theo get in his head. Part of Theo’s tactics with him involves drawing a connection between Stiles and his sister, and then telling him the story of his sister’s death in order to gain sympathy. Theo ultimately plays to everyone’s emotions, exploiting them to his own end.

Theo is emotionally intelligent, and doesn’t like to look like the bad guy. When threatening Hayden, he emphasizes how much he doesn’t want what he’s saying to sound threatening. Theo’s first move is typically to use, softer or friendlier techniques. However, when those fail, he can become extremely controlling and demanding. When any of the Chimera’s question him too much, Theo essentially blackmails them to control them, in addition to claiming that what they’re doing will ultimately protect people. Of course, these are all villainous showings of Fe. Later on, in the final season, we see a more genuine version of Theo, that uses his Fe in a more positive manner. For instance, when Liam is struggling with his anger, Theo works hard to keep him in check, and even helps him understand why he’s feeling the way he is.

Ni:

“You’re really gonna kill him? I mean, I don’t care if you do, but have you thought this through? Any idea where you’re gonna dump the body? No one saw you grab him, did they? Cause that could be a problem… at least let me help. I’m the one with experience here. If we kill him, we’ll have to find the witnesses and kill them too, which means we’re gonna need shovels, some plastic bags, maybe a chainsaw…”

“I should’ve stayed. I should’ve made sure.”

“You sound like you’re trying to apologize.”

Theo is calculated and strategic, usually taking great care that his every action serves his ultimate goal. He pays attention to everything going on around him, absorbing any information that he sees a potential use for later. He is good at drawing conclusions about those around him, and using those to his advantage. For instance, he picks up on Malia’s hunt for her mother, and offers to help. She seems shocked that he knows what he knows. Theo is always working some kind of angle, only revealing information to others when he sees an advantage in doing so.

Similarly, he seems to excel at reading between the lines, and understanding what’s going unsaid. When Scott starts talking to him at one point, rambling about his breathing problem, Theo cuts straight to the point and says, “You sound like you’re trying to apologize.” In another example, when Theo is struggling to convince a pack member to put on the dread doctor mask, Deucalion gives him somewhat cryptic message, which Theo instantly recognizes as a way to steal the pack member’s ability so he could do it himself.

Theo is overall a cautious individual who prefers to have a solid plan. He does periodically get impulsive due to his Se not being inferior, but this usually only happens when his plan needs to be adapted quickly. As a whole, Theo is typically acting within a predetermined plan, being naturally the type to consider the implications of his actions. This can be seen in his approach to Liam in season 6, when trying to stop him from killing a classmate. He plays into Liam’s murderous desire, and begins describing the future scenario that they would find themselves confronted with. He lists out all the various factors and everything they’d have to do in order to hide the act and keep the murder quiet. His cautious nature also leads him to being somewhat detached when possible, which suggests Ni. For instance, he sets up Liam to kill Scott instead of doing it himself, and leaves the scene, assuming that everything will go according to plan. He regrets this later.

Se:

“I’ve never done this before, Lydia. I know how dangerous it is, but it’s a risk we have to take.”

Theo’s tertiary Se comes out primarily in his ability to improvise. While he prefers to have a plan and think things through, there are times throughout the show when things don’t go quite according to plan. When this happens, Theo adapts fairly easily. Although in the negative, he, at times, acts quite hastily when under the stress of the moment. The extent to which he does this points away from him being an inferior Se user.

A good example can be seen when he charges over to a kidnapped Lydia, and jabs his fingers into her neck to check her memories. He verbally recognizes the risk that he’s taking, but claims that it’s necessary. However, while this situation turns out fine, other quick decisions result in him killing multiple members of his own pack.

Lastly, while this was mentioned in the Ni section, the fact that his initial plan is to get Liam to kill Scott for him suggests a low sensing function, because of the physically detached approach to the plan.

Ti:

Theo’s Ti surfaces in way the reasons and twists logic. As mentioned in the Fe section, Theo prefers not to be seen as the bad guy, partially because his preferred method of manipulating people is through more sympathetic or emotional means. Once his villainous nature is revealed, that default means of manipulating Scott and the others becomes all but impossible, since they no longer trust him. However, Theo still tries to rationalize away his past actions when confronted with them, rather than openly recognizing what he’s done. For instance, he says “I just put them back the way I found them” when accused of killing his own pack members. He essentially reinterprets or re-frames his evil act in attempt to dismiss it.

He doesn’t typically resort to cold, hard logic until absolutely necessary. At one point, after he forms his pack, he is trying to team up with Stiles to save Lydia. Stiles is wary of this and asks what he wants. By this point, Theo doesn’t bother to try to emotionally manipulate him in any way and essentially just argues that it’s irrelevant. He says, “what’s the difference? I can find her. You can’t.
