Se:

“My daughter is what you might call a jack of all trades and master of none.” – Ino’s father

Ino from the Naruto series is not an incredibly developed character in the Naruto series, but after some study, her Se dominance became clear. Ino is very physical in nature. As a young kid, she is quick to fight off bullies to protect Sakura. She shoves a flower in the bully’s mouth, knocks her over, and then tells a lie to scare her. This also demonstrates her ability to improvise and act in the moment. Additionally, Ino is very impatient. She wants to get things done, and get them done now. In the second chunin exam, once her team has the scrolls, she wants to just rush to the goal in spite of the risk of being ambushed. The contrast between her and Sakura is clear here, since Sakura is pushing for them to take the more cautious route. Ino also struggles with committing herself to learn her clan’s secret technique once she learns how long it will take. She wants results now, so she immediately excuses herself and attempts to learn medical ninjutsu instead. Ino is also shown trying out new tricks mid-battle, and struggles to keep her mouth shut on varying occasions. Unfortunately, she can also be rather shallow in a way that is sometimes associated with Se, like focusing too heavily on physical appearance.

Fi:

“You’re bossy but you can also be a compassionate caregiver.” – Asuma

“People only tease you because you try to cover it up. Just flaunt it and don’t let them get to you. Then everybody around you will change .”

Ino is very self-confident. The difference between her and Sakura is clear in this regard. Ino isn’t really shown worrying about what other people think of her, beyond her desire to beautify and hone her general appearance. In fact, she is so self-confident that she even attempts to flirt with and seduce Neji in the first chunin exam. (Of course, this fails miserably). Of course, going right along with that, Ino also doesn’t struggle with being the center of attention. Her dream during the Infinite Tsukuyomi specifically revolves around Sai and Sasuke fighting over her. Ino is also shown having a fair amount of empathy. She’s shown feeling bad for others, like a girl who had been ostracized by a village and Sakura for having to deal with Naruto on a regular basis. Out of compassion, Ino also reaches out to Sakura and encourages her to be self-confident. She basically tells Sakura to flaunt who she is, and not to worry about what other people think. Unfortunately, Ino doesn’t seem to state a lot of positive values throughout the show, but her Fi mentality is rather clear in thoughts like in her inability to understand how anyone can fall for a fat guy.

Te:

“That Ino. She’s terrifying when she’s mad.” – Shikamaru

Ino can be very bossy and blunt with her opinions. While she doesn’t have very clearly stated values during the show, her opinions are never hidden. For instance, she tells Sakura up front while they are children that Sakura has a billboard brow. At that time, Ino isn’t even being mean about it or teasing the girl; she is just stating a fact. She then goes on to give Sakura advice regarding it. However, her bluntness can also be cruel, like poking at Chogi’s weight. Shikamaru repeatedly declares that she is scary and bossy. Of course, her harsh reactions to things can easily be seen as a combination of Se-Te, physically lashing out to take back control of the situation.

Ni:

“A woman’s intuition… He seems a bit like Chogi.”

Ino’s Ni surfaces in her failure to see past the present moment. Her impatience and struggle to think before she speaks are clear indicators. She’s generally been shown to be prone to more risky behavior, due to a failure to or lack of desire to consider the implication of her actions. However, her Ni also outlets via her occasional focus on the symbolic meaning behind certain flowers and use of analogies regarding them. She also on rare occasion uses her intuition to recognize patterns and get a read on certain people.
