Se:

โ€œThatโ€™s close enough in my book. The methodโ€™s irrelevant. The result is what matters and you were able to manipulate the past.โ€

โ€œThis world is full of infinite possibilities, and the solution is somewhere among them. So letโ€™s find it. Letโ€™s look and keep lookingโ€ฆa thousand times or a million if thatโ€™s what it takes. Find a solution to Steinโ€™s Gate, like you and Kurisu tried, together!โ€

โ€œNothing goes unchanged by the passage of time. What do you think? Puts the fun in functional, right?โ€

Maho from Steins Gate is bold and quick to speak. Shortly after meeting Okabe, she has already yelled at him for assuming her age, yanked his phone away from his ear, and etc. She doesnโ€™t hesitate to share her opinions. She calls him out for holding opinions very similar to Makiseโ€™s in spite of him not being a neuroscientist. Basically, Maho has no issues accusing him of stating ideas that are not his own. In addition, she acts without thinking, and on occasion, regrets it, like when she answers a video chat call immediately after waking up one morning. For the most part, beyond being a bit fiery at times, Maho is relatively laid back and go with the flow. At one point, she meets up with Okabe with the stated intention that she needs to talk to him, but procrastinates, urging him to hang out with her for a while first, which suggests a high extraverted perceiving function. Sheโ€™s more worried about the end result and practical value of something, rather than the method used, which indicates a lack of Si. She also has a focus on creating things and doing things that are both useful and practical. As a child, she enjoyed building electronics, and even makes a comment about having burned herself with a soldering gun. She periodically points out the functionality of something, and even notes that Professor Judyโ€™s work is much more useful than her own. She also demonstrates a typical sensor tendency in the the Valentines OVA, where she tries to measure out everything in the recipe exactly. (This would be typical for a sensor who is not used to cooking).

Ti:

โ€œThe way I see it. The laws you describe are more like a formula. Theyโ€™re just another set of circumstances to unlock, like a combination. And I believe we can figure it out. People have wills. They use their minds to make decisions and take action. Thatโ€™s what makes the world what it is. Solving this may not be an easy feat, but if we work hard, and most importantly, if we work together, we can figure it out.โ€

โ€œIf thatโ€™s what you refer to as Steinโ€™s Gate, then we have our formula. We know that value at least, and we just need to solve for the other missing pieces.โ€

Maho is sharp, and doesnโ€™t typically make an effort to control her environment, which indicates a lack of Te. Sheโ€™s messy and very disorganized, although the mess makes sense to her. When Mayori and the others clean her room, Maho makes a comment about it not โ€œfeeling rightโ€, and says that sheโ€™ll just have to rearrange it later.ย  She initially calls her mess โ€œfunctional.โ€ Maho makes her opinions very clear, usually stating them in a very blunt manner, although she does not enforce them. She repeatedly warns Okabe not to get too attached to Amadeus, and even suggests that he stop talking to the AI altogether. However, she still continually gives him the option, and never tries to cut him off from Amadeus. Maho asks a lot of questions when something doesnโ€™t make sense, but she never pushes too strongly for the answer. When denied, she just shrugs it off and moves onโ€ฆuntil next time anyway. A clear example of this is when Okabe and Daru start talking about time travel in front of her on accident, and then turn and look at her, indicating that she should leave them alone. She basically just sighs and leaves the room, after confirming that thatโ€™s what they want. Sheโ€™s also presents herself as unemotional and apathetic throughout the series. Obviously, sheโ€™s still struggling with the loss of Kurisu, leading her to appear somewhat emotionally turbulent at times, but she doesnโ€™t appear comfortable expressing any of this to others. Her Ti nature is also demonstrated in her enjoyment of physically building electronics as a child. This is fairly typical Se-Ti tendency.

Fe:

Mahoโ€™s low Fe, in the negative sense, is demonstrated in her tendency to compare herself to others and be easily embarrassed.ย  Throughout the show, she is constantly comparing herself to Makise Kurisu, and generally struggles with feeling inadequate as a result. Sheโ€™s also quick to notice the reactions of others, like when the Professor invites himself (and her) to Okabeโ€™s Christmas party.ย  When they walk in the room, she instantly sees everyoneโ€™s reactions, feels awkward, and asks Okabe if he is sure this is alright. She also is generally quick to hone in on the emotional state of others, periodically making comments such as Okabe coming alive whenever he talks to Amadeus. In addition, Maho has a somewhat fiery temperament, a fact which is demonstrated immediately after her very first appearance in the series. The girl also appreciates a legitimate emotional explosion, and mentions to Okabe that it was nice to see him lose his cool for once. (This happens in the aftermath of Daru punching him.)

Ni:

Maho is a relatively mature person working as a scientist, so her inferior Ni doesnโ€™t come off in the typical anime hero way. (IE: rushing headfirst into battle without thinking.) However, you can see her doing things without much concern for the consequences. Maho works on the time machine with Daru behind Okabeโ€™s back, in spite of previously saying she wouldnโ€™t. In addition, she answers a video chat call first thing in the morning once without thinking, and regrets it a few minutes later after looking in the mirror. Beyond that though, Mahoโ€™s Ni leads her to question the meaning behind actions and read into situations. She is constantly pondering what Okabeโ€™s relationship Kurisu was, leading her to realize that their relationship had to have been much more extensive than he was indicating. In addition, she picks up on Okabe trying to protect his friends from something they couldnโ€™t see. Lastly, I also think that her tendency to idolize Kurisu could be a result of her inferior Ni (or weakest function in use) comparing itself to Kurisuโ€™s dominant Ni. Everyone desires to achieve strong use of their inferior function, and Maho, being no different, constantly expresses feeling of inadequacy and jealously as a result of working side-by-side with Makise Kurisu.
